Sun Yong grew up in Shanghai, China. He moved to Paris, France and studied visual communication (graphic design) at the institute ESAM Design. He then continue his studies and graduated with a masters in photography and creation image digital at the Versailles Academy of Fine Arts (Ecole des Beaux-arts de Versailles).

Since 2009, Sun Yong is a member of association la maison des artistes，professional photographer. He resides in Paris, France, and works as a freelance photographer, available for photography assignments and commission. Photography remains passion in his life forever.

In 2012, the series SDF selected for the exhibition Salon d’automne, get the recognition and acknowledgment in domain of the art.

In 2020, the selected photographer on the jury of the contest Jardins extraordinaires.

In 2021, the invited photographer on the exposition Arbres, partnership with the Ile-de-France Region.
